About me

Inspired by the absurd and playful moments in life, as well as the unsettling and insightful ones, I make surprising and enticing objects that seek to add interest to the less significant aspects of living.

I draw particular inspiration from found objects and second-hand stuff; charity shops and skips are endless sources of delight. I am forever looking to revamp and recycle or redesign with a twist. Yet, I also find intrigue in human relations, sentiments and identity; examining the various trials and tribulations we face, however tiny or large. Therefore, what I make ranges from sculpture through to conceptual design and is sometimes thought provoking and other times humorous.

Working mainly in ceramics, I embrace this material’s familiarity and fundamental place in peoples’ lives. It is involved in many daily rituals and we are all acquainted with it’s many sensations and sounds; be it a warm mug against lips, a heavy flowerpot or clunking dishes in the washing up bowl. I would like my work to find its place in amongst these rituals in the eclectic and hectic lives of people.
